Maryland Wear & Carry Permit Course
FFT’s Maryland Wear and Carry Permit class meets the training requirements for a Maryland WCHP for those seeking to carry or possess a handgun while in the state of Maryland.
Maryland grants both residents and non-residents the right to apply for a Wear and Carry Permit.
With a Maryland WCHP, one may carry a concealed handgun to protect herself/himself while in the state of Maryland, on the condition that she/he has met all legal criteria and completed the training requirements with a certified Maryland WCHP instructor.
FFT’s class provides the legally required 16-hour curriculum on Maryland's firearm laws, home firearm safety, child safety laws, legal transportation of firearms, prohibited and restricted areas, magazine/ammo restrictions, etc.
We will also cover more basic firearm-related topics such as handgun components, pistol actions/functionality, ammunition, firearm malfunctions, cleaning and storing, etc.
Following the classroom portion, students must shoot a course of at least 25 rounds, from no further than 15 yards and score at least 70% accuracy.
